From the moment you enter the front door of Rosso's Trattoria in the heart of Grants Pass' historic downtown - you'll swear you've been transported to a village in Italy.

The sights, the smells and the tastes are all astonishingly authentic and served in a classic "Trattoria" setting with exposed brick walls, oil paintings by local artists and cozy booths lining the walls.

The dining room provides an understated and elegant framework for the food - which is the star of the show.

Many ingredients included in Rosso's sandwiches, soups, salads & pastas were foreign to local diners when the restaurant first opened nearly a decade ago.

Rosso's Trattoria set a standard for southern Oregon dining that has encouraged more adventurous eateries but remains unsurpassed.

Imagine the various combinations that can be derived from gourmet ingredients such as fresh mozzarella, proscuitto, coppa, provolone, sun-dried tomatoes, roast chicken & house-made tapenades, pesto & infused oils.

What's New?

Regulars at Rosso's Trattoria know that the vast chalkboards containing "Soups of the Day" and other "Daily Specials" are the first place to start a culinary tour of Italy - right here in River City.

As many as five "simmered from scratch" soups are offered on a daily basis. Favorites include: "Italian Wedding Soup," "Tomato Basil Soup," "Chicken Tortellini in Stock," & "White Bean, Proscuitto & Kale." If you see a new soup on the board - try it - diners with a sense of adventure are abundantly rewarded at Rosso's Trattoria.

Recent "American Idol" finalist - local favorite Kristy Lee Cook - is a former Rosso's staff member and has her own sandwich on the special board: "Turkey, Basil & Mozzarella on Panini."

The Grants Pass Trattoria has received some national press from the Kristy Lee Cook connection. Kristy Lee proves the proverbial link between great food and romance since she met her fiancee while serving him Anita's creations at Rosso's Trattoria.

Many of the menu items at Rosso's Trattoria are inspired by recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation. Anita Fogarty - owner/chef of Rosso's - puts her own fresh spin on classic Italian cuisine by shopping for what's fresh and local and altering her offerings based on availability of quality ingredients. Special soups sandwiches, salads & pastas are created every day. The quality of ingredients & imaginative combinations are consistently satisfying and not to be missed!!! Rosso's extensive regular menu is divided in sections that include: "SPECIALTY SANDWICHES," "GRILLED 'PANINI' SANDWICHES," "INSALATAS" and "PASTAS." If "Pasta" is what you're craving, Anita allows diners to pair their favorite sauce with their favorite pasta. This allows an endless variety of combinations to sample on return visits. Choose from penne, spaghetti, vermicelli or more exotic options like orichiette & risotto on occassion. Layered lasagnes are especially popular!

Merchandise We Carry

"Insalatas" at Rosso's Trattoria are more than a great way to start a meal - they're a healthy lunchtime alternative by themselves.

Each salad begins with the freshest bed of Baby Greens & Mesclun. Some add cured Italian meats like Coppa & Proscuitto or Roasted Turkey. You can choose salads that include grilled vegetables & Italian cheeses along with fresh cucumber, onion & tomato - all tossed together with House Italian Dressing.

"Specialty Sandwiches" come on Focaccia or Sourdough bread with components similar to Rosso's salads. Meat & cheese combos like Coppa, Genoa Salami & Mozzarella are augmented by vegetarian options like Grilled Eggplant or Artichokes & Roasted Peppers with Cheeses & Tapenades. Meat Ball Subs are a huge hit.

Grilled Sandwiches - Paninis - are a favorite of locals. They're hearty and satisfying and can cover two lunches or a lunch & light dinner - value and flavor to boot.
